Hurricane Sandy

All I have to say is we got really Lucky!
Boston/Mass got really lucky
New York, New Jersey and other states not so much!

This Hurricane hit hard!
Please remember to keep those affected in your thoughts and prayers.

For us we stayed home.
School and work was called off.
It was nice that Daniel was home and I didn't have to worry about him.

The worst of it for us hit between 3-7pm
Strong winds and rain.
It was a little nerve racking just not knowing how bad it would be.
But it all turned out okay for us here.

We were prepared with our water, candles and flash lights.
When I went to the store the night before everything was gone.
Water batteries lighters flash lights.
It just made me realize to always be prepared.

I bought my first 72 hour kit today for 4 people
Not going to lie it officially made me feel pretty grown up.
Always here them talk about food storage in Relief Society and now I'm more on board.

The power was only out at our home for about 2-3 hours.
Daniel and I played some board games and cooked a lot of our food just in case power was out for long we didn't want our food to go bad. Also I am so thankful for a gas stove and gas heating!

Hitting up Costco for some water and other things.
We let the boys play and they were in heaven!
Love Costco!

For the last week Brighton has been pretty sick and has had diarrhea on and off. TMI I'm sorry
He was crying when we left Costco that he HAD to go
We saw a Hotel and tried to get to it so he could go but couldn't figure out how to get to it driving.
(if you have driven in Boston you would totally understand right now)
We kept driving and driving but just kept turning into office buildings
So I made Daniel pull over and take Brighton in a parking lot of some office buildings.
All I have to say is Thank Goodness!
He could not hold it any longer and Thank goodness it was a Saturday.
The things we do as parents!!

Played with the kids and made Orange Chicken from ourbestbites yum!

This was the only picture I took while the storm was hitting. I know it's a bad picture.
It's a UPS truck delivering packages right during the worst of it!
Really do people need packages that bad!? '

This morning I took a walk around the neighborhoods to see all that had happened.
I saw shingles off houses, a few tree's that fell and some loose wires.
I tell ya Lucky!

Here are some pictures I googled
Bad
So so sad!
