Home

My family and friends have been asking to see pictures of the house. I still have a lot of finishing touches that I wanted to get done before posting pictures but who knows when that will all get done.

So here is what we have so far.

Obviously I need a bed frame and things on the wall. Soon enough I will get there. I'm not sure what to do above the dresser. If you have any ideas or pins, send them my way. Also Maybe I could do some sort of make shift headboard or something? Again ideas are much appreciated.

I really had fun with Brighton's room. He loves his "Big Truck Bed"  we diecided to give him our old bed so that way when we get VISITORS they can just stay in his room. It was a win all around. I got a new bed, guest's get a big bed and I didn't have to buy Brighton a bed.

It was really hard to find little boy like bedding for a queen size bed. I found this at Land of Nod. I also got the decal headboard and curtains there.

His reading corner is something I was really excited about. I mean what else was I going to do with that little nook.

Brighton loves the lights above and I love that he has somewhere he can sit and read books.
I got the decal off etsy and I just emailed JaneyMacWalls and told her what I wanted and how I wanted it to look in the colors I wanted and she got it done for me.

5 years

Yep we have made it 5 years! Sometimes I think that is so long I can't believe we have been married that long. Then I think, really only 5 years?

When Daniel and I got married, I don't really know what I expected the next 5 years to look like. Some things I guess I saw happening in these five years. A couple kids I hoped would be here. Moving 7 times, ya didn't really see that. Still Renting ya didn't really see that either. Living on the East Coast in Boston. For sure did not see that! But I am happy and pleased with where these 5 years have brought us and wouldn't change a thing.

I can honestly say being married to Daniel has not only been the most fun 5 years of my life but the easiest 5 years. He is so easy going and kind. He puts up with me and always tries to please me. Even when I am being a pill. He doesn't expect a lot so that's nice too. :)

We spent our anniversary out to the ball game. Daniel's work gave us Box seats to a Red Sox Game. It was my first time at Fenway.

It felt good to get out of the house without the kids. Although I was a little worried about Nixon. He is such a Ma Ma's boy lately. But he was in good hands with a girl I met from the ward named Brittney. Brittney said the kids did great. She said Nixon did cry through out the night and that he kept walking around the house looking for me. But then she put him to bed and he zonked out in seconds. She said that Brighton was good too and would tell Nixon it was okay and was being really sweet to him. This made me happy. She also said he went to bed before Nixon at about 8. He told her he was tired and went to his room and put himself to bed. I asked her if we were talking about the same Brighton. He really surprises me sometimes.

I hope that Daniel and I can start doing date nights more often. I sure do miss spending one on one time with him. It's different when you are out of the house. You don't have to worry about what needs to be done and you can just focus on each other.

I love you Daniel, you are my world. So happy to have shared these last five years with you. Can't wait to see what the next 5 brings us.

Also on our Anniversary weekend, Daniel took me into the City where we did some walking around got some cupcakes and he surprised me by Dropping me off at a Spa in the city for a massage and spa treatment then he picked out a snazzy new Kate Spade purse. Yep that's my husband!  He really is the best!

This and That.

Just wanted to write a little tonight while I have some alone time about what's been going on.

Life in Boston is good. Real good.
I have a feeling I am going to LOVE Fall!
Pumpkin Patches
Apple Picking
The Leaves!!!!!!!!!
Trick or Treating in Salem Massachusetts!!!!!

Yes very excited.

But back to the now.
Brighton has a late Birthday so I have been going back and forth on what to do about him and preschool.
He could be in 3 years of preschool before Kindergarten.
Well Preschool out here is NOT cheap.
We are talking 5K a year. And that's even on the even to low end.
So I am not sending him this year.
Although I'm sure he would love it.
But I love 5K a little more.

Instead I have in~rolled in him in Soccer, Swim Lessons, and T-ball at the YMCA.
He talks about it all the time and tells everyone he is going to be on a soccer team.
I think for right now he just need to learn to interact, be on a team and follow simple instructions.
And I need to find a cheaper preschool.

I am starting to feel like the house is coming together. I have most of the big stuff taken care of now for the wall stuff. But even though I'm not done, I think I will post pictures soon of the house for all to see.

The boys had a Dr. checkups today. I didn't love the Pediatric Dr. She was fine but I want to good or even better GREAT! So do I try and find good or stick with ok?

It's been so nice to have Daniel come home from work and be there to help put the kids to bed. Something I am not used to! Now If I could get him to be home for dinner too life would be great. I can't even imagine a life with a husband that comes home at 5. Weird.

Brighton's Birthday is coming up fast! I don't even know what to do. I feel lost being in a new place with new friends. Where do I have it? Big or Small? All I know is he says he want's a Truck Party with a Truck Cake. Ok I think I can do that.

I have been trying to cook something new once a week. Sometimes it goes well and I have fun. Sometimes I hate it and think I wasted so much money, time and dirty dishes into that dish. Hate that.

I have some weird rash on my hands/fingers. I seriously can not figure out what is going on? It itches burns and my fingers are peeling!? After about of month of soaking them in creams, putting on Athletes Foot cream on (yes I really tried this) and nothing helping, I went to the Walk in Clinic Or instacare. The dermatologist was out for a month.

Well 3 hours later and the Dr telling me he didn't know what it was and me crying to him cause they hurt so bad and me annoyed at the fact I was crying but the emotions got the best of me prescribed me some steroid pills and they have actually been helping?

I'm not in the clear yet and hope I don't jinx myself but I think it might be going away. Praying.

Oh  did I mention there are FREE pools around here everywhere. Like fun legit pools. FREE! it's awesome! Oh and there is a pizzeria on every corner. I have seen 4 pizza shops on one block before. People in New England sure do love pizza.

Well enough ranting enjoy some instagram pictures cause that's all I take now a days.

Found Dad coming off the bus. He was SO Excited!

 Boston Sunset no filter

 Brighton's reading corner sneak peak

My sick fingers and this actually looks really good compared to a couple days ago
And these two... started to get along so well and play nice.
Brighton only beats on him 80% of the time now. :)

Potty Training

Wow this is by far those most exhausting thing I have done!
I wish I could say I have an easy kid who just loves to go to the bathroom.
But I don't!
We are still having probably 1 accident a day. But all in all I think he is doing good.
Every once in a while he forgets and wets himself
Or gets mad at me and wets himself.

When we first started he caught on really quick. Could be because he is almost 3
Or could be because we have done this already before.

First day I fed him tons of juice and followed him everywhere.
He did really good. I think the first day only had 1 accident.
Then after that he pretty much had it.
Although he did not want to poop in the potty.
He was so scared but I just kept following him and when he realized I wasn't going to leave his side,
he went in the potty and has done #2 ever since.

I had a jar of starburst in the bathroom.
He loved that!
He would push out these little baby dribble pee's just so he could get candy.
He was on a Sugar High the first day.
The second day we did gummy bears.
After that we were free from candy, Thank goodness.

I told him if he could get it down and have no accidents I would get him his beloved train table. He added in there "with dinosaurs mom?"

After about 2 weeks he had a day of no accidents so Daniel and I put the table together. Took us 3 1/2 hours. But the look on his face and the things he said when he saw it was all worth it!

We also decided to do no pull ups.
This is something I went back and forth back and forth on doing.
To my surprise he has done really good.
I don't let him drink anything 2 hours before bed
take him pee before bed and then before I go to bed I wake him up and take him again.
And is doing great.

Although we are still having accidents and it is very frustrating.
For the most part he is doing good.
And it's so nice not to have to clean/change his diaper anymore.
And save money on not buying him diapers.
