That little voice

I don't usually post stuff like this on my blog but... I am feeling prompted.

 So I just got home from visiting a friend in Walnut Creek and on the drive home it was getting close to 5:00pm.

 I was driving on a pretty busy freeway going a steady 60 mph but a little slowing here and there.

 When I see this car coming up behind me so fast!!! 

I was slowing down cause the car in front of me was.

 I was just watching the car behind me hoping they would stop. 

Seriously my stomach dropped. Luckily he slammed on his breaks and didn't hit the back of my car.

 We started to gain speed again when I got this feeling to get away from this car and move into the next lane.

 I moved into the slow lane,

 and about a mile later that car that was behind me hit the car in front of him and swerved into other cars!! 

I could not believe my eyes! 

To think if I wouldn't have been listening who knows what would have happened.

 I was just so thankful that Brighton was safe.

 I can't help but feel so blessed that I know about the gospel and to have the truth. 

To listen to a true Prophet of God. Wow pretty cool! 

Brighton's 1 year stats

Brighton's loves going to the doctor's office cause he loves meeting new people and he loves attention.

 I seriously have never seen a more social baby in my life! 

Every time my doctor see's Brighton she says, 

"he is such a happy baby...knock on wood" 

Every time ha ha. 

Weight 18lbs 10 oz  6%   

Height 28 1/2 inches 15%

Head 45.5 cm  25%  

Seriously!!? 

When did he get so small? 

I thought for sure he would have hit 20lbs.

All this kid does is eat. 

Looks like no new car seat for us yet. 

He got 4 shots it was sad, he only cried a little so that was good. 

He tested negative for Tuberculosis, so that was good too. 

Next month we go in for blood work, not looking forward to that. 

He is a healthy happy boy and is doing awesome! 

Puppy Party (Part 2)

 If I must say so myself it was a great 1st Birthday.

 One I will remember always. It all went down just as I had planned it. 

Good food, good friends, and a happy little one year old. 

There is just something about a Birthday party that just makes me smile. 

The Birthday song,

 puppy cake, 

 the way a balloon looks floating in the sky,

 presents,

 cokes in a bottle,

 but most of all that sweet smile on little Brighton's face.

 I know he didn't understand it was all for him,

 but I know he was happy and had fun. 

 Brighton eating his hamburger and grapes. His favorite foods right now. 

 Real dog, and his fake dog that he pulls everywhere. He loves this thing! 

 I know I'm a good parent! ;-) 

Brighton got so many cute presents, from Grandparents and friends.

Never a dull moment

So as you may know, Brighton was sucking on his arm.

 It was getting really chapped and the skin was starting to break away.

 So I decided to put Brighton in long sleeves night and day. 

We are on day 3

I put Brighton down for a nap at 3:00 I could hear him waking up around 5:00 

 I go to go get him when I see that this happened

 he had pulled his arm out of his shirt and tried taking it off, so he could 

suck on his arm!!! 

 I couldn't help but laugh and take a picture of him. Well that made him pretty mad.

Let's just say he will be wearing long sleeve onesies for a while. 

Puppy Party (Part 1)

I have so many picture's from this party we need to do it in waves.

I had so much fun planning this party. 

Some say I went a little overboard planning a party for a boy who didn't really know what was going on

 and won't remember any of it. 

But I don't care, a picture says a thousand words. 

 I know Brighton will enjoy looking at these photos one day!

As I think back to that day I had Brighton I still can't believe I never wrote it down.  I'm sure there will be some things I am forgetting but better late than never. 

2 weeks before my due date I went in for a routine check up. When they discovered my blood pressure had went way up. They took my blood pressure 3 times and all three times high. I still blame my blood pressure spiking from my ward at the time asking me to speak in church 2 weeks before my due date! I was so scared and when they called Daniel's phone and asked I seriously thought I was going to pass out and I instantly started sweating I was so hot! Daniel took one look at me and told them I couldn't do it but he would. From then on, HIGH blood pressure. So at my check up they sent me over to the hospital and said I could be having a baby that day. That was on a Wednesday. I went to the hospital laid on the bed for a few hours and it came down so they sent me home. But they said they wanted to see me at my doctors office to check me out again on Friday. Went back in on Friday and guess what Blood Pressure still up! Sent me back to the hospital this time hooked me up to an IV (that hurts worse than the epidural) laid there for a few hours blood pressure came down, nurse told me she would be really surprised if the doctor didn't just induce me. Well guess what he didn't! He said he didn't want to risk me having a C-section if my body wasn't ready. So he sent me home and put me on bed rest. Well Sunday came and I felt a little leaking down there, I was a little worried about it so I called the hospital. They told me to come in and they would check me. I went in told them I have had high blood pressure so they decided to have me pee in a cup. Well now I had protein in my urine so the different doctor on call for that day decided to keep me and get things started. I would be having a baby! They admitted me at 3:00pm. Hooked me up to my IV at 4:00 and said they were going to insert a pill into my cervix to get me started slowly. That nurse said they give you one pill every 3 hours and I would have about 3 pills before they gave me pitocin. So she only gave me 1/2 a pill cause she was leaving and didn't want the new nurse to give me too much. They told me there is no way I would have a baby tonight. Maybe tomorrow morning but probably in the afternoon. So I told my mom and Daniel's parents to not even come up. Good thing they didn't listen to me. at six my new nurse walked in the door, and right when she walked in BAM water going everywhere! (or so it felt like it) I remember feeling so embarrassed. Within 5 minutes I thought for sure I was going to DIE.As soon as my water broke I started going into full blown labor all on my own. My nurse checked me I was only at a 2 at 6:00 pm. I waited for about 1/2 hour before I felt like I couldn't move and was asking begging pleading for the epidural!! They came in and told me he was giving and epidural to someone else and that he would be in shortly. What seemed like 2 hours later but was really only 20 min later he came in. I couldn't move he just had me lay on my side and wam bam thank you mam it was in! I felt so relieved! That was at 7:00pm at 8:00 pm I was feeling relaxed my nurse checked me again and I was at a 5 she couldn't believe it! at about 9:00pm I was shaking like crazy. My nurse checked me again and said I was at a 10 and we would start getting ready to push! Wow I seriously couldn't believe it!! She went to go call my doctor and then my mom and dad got there. They didn't even know I was going to be pushing soon. They came in my mom was worried cause I was shaking and then the nurse followed in by saying I called your doctor he will be here soon but we can start pushing now. My mom was so shocked!! So they left the room and Daniel and I got ready to meet little Bright. I started pushing at 9:30pm and Brighton was here at 10:40 pm. I still can not believe how fast it went!  

Seriously though I loved my labor,I loved my nurse, and my doctor. It was such a great experience and I really look forward to the day I get to do it again!

It's so weird to think I have a 1 year old. I remember when Bright was 2, 3, 4 months and seeing 12 month olds and thinking he is never going to be 1. Next thing I know he's 1!!!!!! I never imagined that I could love someone so much! It's just crazy to think about how much I love this little guy!

Some things he is doing right now are:

Blows kisses, it's the cutest thing

When we watch football and I say touchdown, he throws his hands up like you do when you score a touchdown. :)

Whenever we are at the grocery store or out to dinner anywhere Brighton waves at EVERYONE! He loves getting attention from anyone and everyone.

Loves to push everything, the stroller, grocery cart, chairs, anything that moves.

I say "Brighton where is Daddy, is he at work?" Then I say "I don't know" and he puts his hands up and shrugs his shoulders. So cute!

Loves to read books sometimes we sit in his room for an hour or so and just read books. He has so many books thanks to my Mom. She always buys him the best books.

Sucks on his arm, can't get him to stop and yes I am still breastfeeding I don't know when or how I am going to stop this.

He spots airplanes All the time! He points to the sky and goes "oh oh oh" and sure enough every time there's an airplane.

He will eat and try anything. I think he is kind of a food snob, he loves healthy food.? For example today I gave him an M&M and he spit it out. Then I gave him steamed vegetables and he couldn't get enough of them. He loves grapes, bananas, kiwi, strawberries, toast, waffles, chipotle rice, bean and quesadilla. There is not much this kid doesn't like.

Loves to snuggle in the morning for about 15 min before getting up. I love it!

Is an Awesome sleeper! Sleeps through the night. Goes to bed at 9-10pm and wakes up 8-9:30am. Takes 2 naps during the day both lasting about 2 to 3 hours long.

I'm sure there is more to journal but this is all I can think of right now.

We are just the best buds and I love him so so so much!!!!!!!

I took Brighton's 1 year photos last weekend in Chico. I just Loved how they turned out! He is just the cutest thing ever! He looks like such a little model baby
