Brighton meeting Nixon was the cutest sweetest thing I had ever seen!

I was so looking forward to this meeting and it was exactly and more of what I expected!

Brighton loves his little brother! He loves to kiss him and give him hugs.

He wakes up looking for him and shows him all of his trucks.

We were a little worried about him being aggressive towards him, but he has shown him nothing but love.

But let's not get to ahead of ourselves here.

It has been hard on him.

It was a big change to have less attention and another person in the house 24/7

He has been super needy and whiny and really attached to his toys.?

Nothing we can't handle though.

Daniel took him out for a date just the two of them to the beach and I think that has really helped.

Then yesterday I took him to the Jr Zoo here in Palo Alto and to Jamba Juice (he loves that place)

 and it was a nice bonding moment for the two of us.

It has been soooo helpful having Daniel home.

He is taking 6 yes 6 weeks off to help me!

(got to love Ca state laws)

Since I have no family in the area it's nice to have him. 

I'm hoping I can get the 2 kid thing down by the time he goes back to work.

I don't know what I would have done without these two!? 

I would have seriously been lost! 

They took Brighton for me for 2 days! 

It works out nice  cause there little girl Bailey and Brighton 

 love each other and have so much fun together. 

And Bright is so comfortable at their house and with them.

Thanks again Matt and Lindsay we owe you BIG!

 I would have also been lost without her too! 

She helped with Bright, she helped calm my nerves, and was all around a big help.

 I guess you could say on and off the field. 

I was so happy to have shared this experience with her! 

Nixon Grey. birth story

I was lucky and blessed to have another beautiful labor and birth.

My due date came and went, I had a scheduled induction for the following Saturday.
I went in at 8:00 am I got my IV and pitocin started at 9:30 am.
If there is one thing I have learned the second time around is don't expect the same thing will happen to you that happened the first time.
When I had Brighton once my water broke I went from a 2~10 in 3 hours.

Here I am with my last belly shot and waiting to get all hooked up.

They started me off slow, but at 11:30 I started to feel uncomfortable and asked for my epidural.
At around 12:30 I got checked and I was at a 4.
This was very dissapointing to me seeing that when I arrived I was at a 4.
They then broke my water and I thought for sure things would move really fast now.

I got checked again at around 3:00pm and I was at a 5! hmm... this isn't really what I had in mind.
but I was progressing slowly but surely so I was happy.

I started feeling really sick I threw up and could just tell now that my body was progressing fast.
At 5:00pm checked again and tada I was at a 10! yay!

My doctor had me do some practice pushes but I guess they didn't look good cause she said she wanted me to wait for him to drop a bit more.

She left and then about 5 minutes later I was really feeling some pressure and some contractions.
My nurse said whatever you do don't press the button for a boost of epidural.

I told her I couldn't wait a while to start pushing and not push the button. She said okay then let's start pushing. She didn't care much that my doctor wanted me to wait. So pushing we did.
And he was ready.

I started pushing at 5:15pm and I pushed for about 15 minutes.  I was so happy I listened to my nurse and didn't push the boost button.
I could feel everything it was so amazing to have control but feel no pain. Pretty awesome

My best friend Betsy was able to be in the delivery room with us.
 She got some memorable shots for us. Something I wish I would have had with Brighton.

So there you have it my beautiful baby boy.

When they told me how much he weighed I seriously thought it was a lie.
A little different from my last 6 pound baby.
And with Nixon I felt and looked smaller.
So strange how everything works.?

His name was chosen while waiting for his arrival in the hospital.
Daniel and I had decided on Grey but could not for the life of us agree on the middle name.
So we changed it completely.
Weird I know
I am really happy we did.
Even though it has taken some getting used to.
We love his name and it fits him perfectly

Happy Due Date!

Well looks like I'm throwing up 1 more post before this baby comes!
Went to the Dr today, she said I'm at a 3 1/2 and 50% effaced. I was so happy when she told me that.
After my false labor a week ago and then nothing ever since I was happy to see my body responded a little bit to it.
She told me she would induce me this Saturday if I don't go on my own before then.
 I'm liking the way Saturday is looking though.
 I like the date 22 a cute Birthday don't ya think?
And gives me a couple more days to get things done and hang with Brighton.
 But if he wants to come before then, I'm okay with that too.
 I still have to narrow down my names ugh!

I'm so happy right now! The smile on my face is not going away any time soon!

6 more days

Well I hit 39 weeks. By this time with my last pregnancy I was in the hospital and getting ready to meet Brighton.
I just knew I would go longer with this pregnancy. I have been feeling (physically) all too good. But I'm not going to lie this last week has been killing me mentally more than anything. We are all ready to meet this little guy and just want him here!

We thought we had a name but now Daniel is trying to change it up on me. So we will see when he is born what we are going to name him.

I am happy to report my blood pressure is behaving this time around. I do not want to have preeclampsia again.

My to do list has been checked off re~written checked off and now it was re~written.

Bright caught a little bug and threw up all over the carpet. My house stinks of throw up, febreze, cleaners, and more throw up. I'm afraid I will just have to pay for cleaners to come in. Oh and yes I did just have carpet cleaners come a month ago.

That's all to report, now to wait, walk, hang with B, wait some more and watch everyone else have their babies and put up cute pics. I know he will be here soon I am just getting impatient. :)

So hopefully the next post you see will have a cute picture of the new babe.

For the record:

Brighton has been saying the funniest things lately and I just wanted to write some of them down so I don't forget.

The other day we were running errands all morning. I still needed to hit up Costco and it was close to lunch time. As we were pulling into Costco he saw McDonald's and pointed to it and said "Mom Eat, eat!" I thought okay, I went through the drive through ordered a salad and some nuggets. I got up to the first window and gave the guy my money. As we were waiting to go to the second window Brighton said "Mom Mom" Me "ya Bright" him" Thank You Mom Thank You" LOL the way he said it was so genuine and sweet. It made going to McDonald's all worth it.

Daniel has had a easier than normal work week this last week. So Daniel and Brighton have been spending a lot of time together. (which is nice with the new baby coming) So lately he has been telling me when he is with Daniel "Mom we're buds" referring to him and Daniel. :) so cute.

When he eats something he likes he takes it all in and says "Mmmm that's good"


When he is trying to make a decision on what he wants to eat or do he says "hmm let's see"

At random times he will say "Oh Cute"

When he wants to leave or for me to do something for him he will say " Come on Mom"  It's making me sad he's not calling me Ma Ma anymore.

He is also going through this phase where he is like too cool sometimes.? Like if I ask him things he will roll his eyes as me like {I can't believe you just asked me that}And walk away and ignore me... HE IS 2!

When he really wants something he will lock his hands and shake them like he is begging and says "please please please please" until he gets what he wants (or brakes down and cries).

That's all I can think of right now. His little personality is just so funny right now and I love the way his  little voice sounds. :)
