daniel had to leave for work by 6:30am and wasn't able to join us. I stayed up late preparing my lesson for my little 6 year old (yes I tend to procrastinate) i hate teaching by myself, but thankfully i have a dream class. i woke with a kiss on the cheek and the sound of daniel locking the door behind him. i fell back to sleep and woke up at 8 am to the sound of rain. not my alarm. it was nice. i hate alarms they just make me wake up not happy. i understand why they must be so annoying, but i don't have to like it. okay i have an hour to shower get ready and get bright ready i think i can do it. who was i kidding i could not do it. i got bright fed and dressed, me not fed but dressed and we were out the door only 1/2 hour late.
it's raining pretty hard, i think to myself your hair is going to be a fuzz ball! and it was. i pull up to the church builing to find no one there. with a confused look on my face i park the car run up to the door in my heals with the fear of falling in the back of my mind to find a note on the door. it reads stake conference 10-12 at stake center. I swear we just had stake conference. i don't know why i didn't know we had stake conference.? i find the address to the stake building and go back and forth, back and forth in my head saying just go... no just go home... i figure i am dressed b is dressed i am in the car and i still have 20 mins to get there. i will just go.
it was in the next town over but i could get their before ten. i find the building and this place is packed i mean super packed! they have people directing traffic and i had to park 1/2 mile away from the building. i park get bright out of the car me in my heels and we start walking to the stake center. b tried to jump in every puddle he could see, we were getting no where at this rate so i decide to carry him. he doesn't like this so he kicks his legs and get's his dirty shoes all over my shirt and skirt... perfect. still going through my mind you should just go home but i keep walking.
we arrive at the building and their is not a seat in site. i walk to the very back and see some chairs up on the stage. i was not sure how this was going to work with brighton but i made it this far so we kept going. it's pitch black on the stage people looking up at the speaker on the screen and b has no wiggle room. he tries to escape i try to keep him on my lap so he is not bothering the people to my right and my left. i did not succeed. he escapes. there was no way he was going to sit in my lap for 2 hours and so i follow behind him.
there was no where for him to hang out and i find my self not listening to one single word the speaking is saying just chasing b. i run into my home teacher and he tells me he got there 40 mins before and they still had a hard time finding a seat. after 10 minutes of me about to loose my mind from chasing b i give up. i found the nearest exit and exit we did!
here we go another 1/2 a mile to the car and now it is raining hard! b jumped in every puddle he could find and i could care less. the smile on his face made me less angry with walking in my heels in the rain getting my hair wet that i just blow dried that morning. so after all that we came home both looking like a hot mess!
