I have had Elmo's potty time movie/music stuck in my head for the last week.
I have to give MAD props to the Hubby for potty training Brighton this last week.
Daniel was so gung ho on getting Brighton trained and I just had anxiety the whole time. With a new baby in the house I did not think it was the right time to start potty training. I said, "if you want to do it go ahead." And Go he did!
Now that I look back on it I think it was a good time cause
Daniel gave Brighton so much attention doing the training and he loved it!
He used 3daypottytraining.com method. (Thanks Laura)
We watched a lot of Elmo's Potty Time
We bought this awesome stool.
We bought this seat, although this one looked really cool and I kind of wish I would have bought it.
We started last Friday and I would like to say he is officially 95% done.
We are still working on Poo Poo but he is doing really good at it.
The first 3 days consist of staying home drinking lots of juice and practice practice practice. Brighton picked up on it a lot better than I thought he would and I am very proud of him and Daniel.
The real test was being out and about. But he has been a champ at that too! Not one accident and we have been out and about a lot. He is very good at holding it.
Brighton has not worn a diaper in over a week and he has not had an accident since the start of the week. We did the first 5 days with no diaper at night too he stayed dry a couple of those nights but the nights he didn't stay dry were bad really bad and no sleep for a 2 year old is not good. Even though this program is big on no diaper or pull ups, after 5 days we gave in and did a pull up at night. We tell him they are night time undies and he has to keep them dry and he does pretty good at it. He even wakes himself up sometimes and goes pee and then goes back to bed.
It has not been easy and I didn't even do anything, and there were times we wanted to quit but Brighton wasn't. He wanted to keep going with it, he loves his underpants and when he did have accidents he would always say I'm sorry I'm sorry over and over it was sad. We never tell him it was bad he went in his undies, just that it was gross and that he needed to stay dry but he really wanted to get it done and feel good about it cause he loves the praise he gets when he goes. (And the CANDY and TOYS)
Anyways so there you have it. Brighton potty trained at 26 months and Daniel is all to blame for it!
I know I have the best husband! :)
