1 month to 1 year

I seriously can not believe Nixon Grey is almost a year old! 
He is the cutest sweetest little guy 

He loves to point at everything. 
That's his new thing. 
Starting to run 
Makes me nervous every time, but he is actually pretty good 

Talks up a storm! 
I know Brighton was never as good at talking as nixon is. 
He has been saying ma ma and da da since like 6 months 
He says 
Hi 
doggy 
uh oh
ball  
barks like a dog 
ba boon (balloon) 
copies every sound Brighton tells him to make. 
Blows on his food every meal (he thinks it's hot) 
Loves to dance 
pushes cars and makes car sounds 
Brighton and Nixon are making a real break through of playing together 
I am loving it!
Love love loves DOGS 

I have been trying to get him to drink milk from his sippy but not getting much luck 
He drinks naked juice with water with Brighton and I think that's why I can't get him to drink milk
I still nurse him 3-4 times a day He loves it. Not sure when I will wean him

He eats pretty much whatever Brighton eats, and still eats rice cereal and oatmeal here and there. 

He love love loves me, you will find nixon grasping onto my legs and in between my feet 90% of the day. 
He cut some new teeth and now anytime I walk into his room he cries cause he thinks I am putting him to sleep. 
He used to go down with no fuss until a few weeks ago and those darn teeth. 
I had to let him Cry it out again. ugh! 
He loves to snuggle and lay his head on my shoulder anytime anyone tries to talk to him. 

He thinks Bright is the best thing ever! 
He is so cute and a lot of fun right now. 
I just want him to stay a baby forever and not turn 1 

I was going to do a big party for him, but he was having some big time anxiety during Brighton's party so now something smaller and more simple. I'm just not sure what. 

Happy 11 months baby boy! 

Big Construction Zone

Well Brighton's party was a hit.
So nice that he had so many little friends to invite.
We have only lived here for a couple months but you would have never guessed that seeing all the friends that came.

He kept talking about his party all week.
I love that he gets what we talk about now.

He kept doing his really excited giggle all morning as I was setting things up for the party
Then he would say" I'm SO excited mom" and then he would start singing "Happy Birthday to Bright"

I wish I would have gotten better pictures.
I let Daniel take the camera during the cake scene and non of the pictures really turned out.
I wish you could have seen his face and his smiles while he was getting sung to and after he blew out his candles. Pure Happiness and Joy! I can still see it in my mind.

3 year old

Well Brighton is officially 3.
So crazy!
I can say though so far I am liking 3's better than 2's
He acts older and more mature
We communicate much better and it's easier for me to reason with him.
This switch I feel like has really happened in the last month.
I hope it only gets better

A lot of moms have said 3 is worse than 2
but with Brighton I don't know if that will be true

Brighton loves Nixon
he calls him Nixie

Ever since we switched him to a bed and potty trained he has never slept the same.
Up at 6-7am everyday
Oh what I wouldn't do to have him back to sleeping till 9am

He loves trucks and trains
Loves watching Thomas the Train, cat and the hat, super why, dinosaur train

Loves doing joy school and likes his classes at the YMCA
It's hard cause at the Y he just wants to go into the babsitting area and play with toys.
So if he see's the room he fights me going to his lessons.

He is always the best one in his classes and the youngest
He is athletic
He doesn't love soccer maybe he is too young for it
He doesn't love fighting for the ball
He is also very obedient and always listens well to his coach/teacher
It makes me happy

Favorite foods right now are
All and any fruit
turkey, grilled cheese sandwich with LOTS of ketchup
pancake dippers
hamburgers I am sad and somewhat embarrassed to say he loves and always wants a McDonald's cheeseburger
honeycombs
bagels and cream cheese
and green juice aka naked juice or green smoothies

I took him into his 3 year checkup like a month ago
I can't remember all of his stats
He was 27 lbs I think was 50%
and I can't remember how tall he was I may have to measure him but she said he was in the 90% for height I guess he had a growth spurt.? He has always been 40% or below on height Weird

He loves his daddy
they are best buds
always wants to go to work with him

Love my Bright so so so much!
Can't wait to see what this next year brings us!
He is the sweetest son and best big brother!
He loves friends and being social

Just some past and present pictures

 

Brighton

Just wanted to take a little time to write about Brighton.

His Birthday is right around the corner.
He loves telling everyone he is going to be 3!
He loves telling people he is going to have a Big Construction Site Party (Handy Manny)

I have enrolled him in the YMCA and he is doing Soccer T-ball and Swimming.
Our first day of soccer practice was on Monday, and it was a bust!
We showed up late, then he was playing and doing good.
Until he needed to go potty, I had to take him inside the Y and he saw the Day Care with all the toys and no longer wanted to do soccer.
Somehow I got him to go back out on the field but then he just threw a huge fit on the ground so I scooped him up and left.
Turns out he was really hungry. I swear he ate breakfast
T-ball was a hit he loved it and he was the youngest and best one in the class :)
Tomorrow is swim hope it goes good.

"Look mom a P"

He has been doing so good and learning all his letters and starting to write them down.
I really would love to put him in Preschool but it's too much money.

So I got an email from some other moms in the Ward asking if Brighton would like to be in Joyschool with them.
I have hesitated on doing this cause I don't know how good of a teacher I am.
 I'm no Charlotte. (my mom who teaches 1st grade and is awesome and wins awards for being such an awesome teacher all the time)

So if any of you out there have done JOY School and will please comment and give me tips, pointers and things I can do with the kids I would REALLY appreciate it!!

Brighton is just all over the place and growing up so fast.
He is doing great with the potty!
He stays dry in the night and day!
Last night we woke up at 1am to him crying Daniel ran up stairs and found Brighton on the floor crying cause he went to the bathroom and couldn't get his underwear back up.
I was so proud this is the first time in the Night he has gone all on his own!

Love him so much! Well I need to save some stuff for his 3 year post.
