Brighton at 2 1/2

Oh my where to begin!
At 2 1/2 I feel like Brighton is a roller coaster of emotions.
One minute he is happy next crying with big tears coming down.
I'm not sure if it's because of Nixon, or turning 2. I think more so turning 2 but a little of both.
He is still in diapers.
It drives Daniel crazy... I don't really care. It's a lot of work to potty train and I figure he will get it one day.
I'm just not sure when that one day will be with all this moving that is about to happen.

He still loves to nap and takes about a 3 hour nap everyday.
Goes to bed around 8-830
Wakes up around 7-8
Loves Nixon so much and can't wait for him to get big.
Every mile stone Nixon hits Brighton cheers for him "yay baby nix you did it!!"
He tells me all the time that "Nixon has cute Ears mom" I would have to agree :)

When I do something he doesn't like he puts his hand up and says "stop it mom just stop it"
Still loves watching sports. It's March Madness
and every night he brings me the remote and says "watch basketball mom"

Tries every night to sleep in the "orange bed" our bed. He says he wants to snuggle.
The few times we have let him I regret it every morning!
He is still in the crib and I love it!

He can count to 20
He knows all his colors
He knows his ABC

Is still so obsessed with every kind of BIG Vehicle
Loves trains
He is really into Little Einsteins right now.
Drinks a fruit smoothie loaded with spinach every morning.
Sometimes I wonder if he is anemic because he seems sleepy all the time.
I should get his blood tested but I'm dreading that.
I just need to get more iron rich foods in his diet.
Maybe 2 smoothies a day with spinach?

He loves playing with friends and loves to play soccer.
I never thought I would say this but I want nixon to get bigger so they can play!
He went through a 2 week phase where he wasn't too sure about nursery but now he likes it again.
I have noticed that when I am up front with him about things and tell him what is going to happen. Such as "I am going to go to class and I will be back to get you in a couple of hours" Apposed to me sneaking out when he is not looking. He does a lot better.

He loves nixon but he is also mean to him when he wants attention from me.
Some of the things he does is~
pretends to kiss him but then digs his teeth into his head
head butts him
kicks him while he walks by him
steamrolls him
pulls on his legs when I'm holding him
wow this list is getting long I will stop there.
I'm Sure Mr. Nix will get him back one day.

I feel like he is really hard and the tantrums and constant overemotional self is killing me
but when he is sweet and tells me he loves me and misses me out of no where,
and asks if we can snuggle that is what gets me through it.
People say 3 is harder but I don't know how it can get harder than this.?

Daniel and I were talking the other night and we Never thought a toddler would be this hard.
I just thought if I was consistent with time outs and calm speaking
(and I feel like I am most of the time) it would work out.
But that's not the case. So you just deal with it. ahhh motherhood :)

Mystery solved

one word

TEETH

i hate teething!!!
it feels like it never ends.

brighton and nixon got pretty bad colds as we know.
but what really got them were the teeth they are currently cutting.

nixon grey is getting his bottom two.
it makes me sad
he is too young to be getting teeth
one has popped up the other one is working on it.
he is in so much discomfort and medicine and oragel doesn't seem to help much.
so what does he want to do for comfort?
NURSE
all day and all night long.
i am a human binki
yesterday he only took a 30 min nap all day cause of those dang teeth.

brighton is cutting his top 2 year molars
that explains the high fevers.
he always gets high fevers for three days while cutting teeth.

just wanted to write on record when all these teeth started to come through.

little sickies

i have two little sick ones on my hands.
my first time having two kids sick at the same time.
let me tell you... it's exhausting!

up all night, crying... more crying trying to play sneaky little games to get them to take medicine.
when all that fails just shoving it down their throats and having them
brighton kick and knock it out of your hands going everywhere.
oh yes so very exhausting.

but when that moment comes that they just cling to you to hold their sweaty little fevered bodies
and they berry their little heads deep into your chest.
they may not say out loud but they are saying ma ma, i want you, and only you,
to hold me... to take care of me.... to love me

that my friend is when the exhaustion is ALL worth it!

(picture taken hours before destruction)

i decided to take nixon grey into the dr just to make sure it wasn't something more serious.

"just a cold with lots of mucus" the dr told me.
i was very relieved, he may look like a big boy but he is still only 4 months.
(oh and btw he now weighs 17lbs!.? he was 15 2 weeks ago)

his little voice is so raspy it's so sad and a tiny bit cute.
he can't even cry cause it voice is so raspy
it melts my heart to hear and i just want to do any little thing possible for him.
he is so so so sweet.

i love my boys so much

poor bighton is def more sick than nixon.
i hope they both get better fast
until then we will continue to watch everything disney and snuggle oh and feel exhausted ;)

As the trip came to an end we spent the last day on the beach.
It was a beautiful day and the perfect way to end our trip.

Disneyland!!!

Who knew Disneyland was so awesome!?
Not us.
We seriously had the most magical time!
It really could be the happiest place on earth!

We were also there during the 24 hour opening
because of leap year
IT WAS CRAZY!!!
There were so many people there!
Just on that day though all the other days were fine.

My favorite picture!

My 2nd Favorite picture!

Yes it's true we were at Disneyland the same day there were filming a episode of Modern Family.
It was pretty cool to watch them film.
I saw everyone except Lilly the little girl.
Also it's amazing how many of the same takes they do.. A Lot!

Yep, even caterpillars like Disneyland! ;)

Space Mountain.
If you look close you can see little Lucy's head ha ha
She loved all the BIG rides and was so sad she couldn't go on California Screamin.

My Beautiful sister and her family (-Ellie)

Getting ready for the Tower of Terror
So fun!

Brighton loved meeting the characters.
Anytime he saw them we had to wait in line to meet them.

He was so so so tired the whole trip.
For someone who takes three hour naps every day going to no nap
and going to be late every night I would say he did pretty good.
He only had one big meltdown at DL.
We left right then and took a 3 hour nap in the hotel.

Tea Cups!

My nieces and nephew. Canyon. Lucy. Ellie. Love them!

Goodbye Disneyland!
Until next time!
We can not wait to go back!

The start of So Cal trip

The drive getting there was a little longer than what should have been a 6 hour drive.
We got caught in a random snow storm waiting at a dead stop for 2 hours just to be flipped around.
We had to stay the night in a random town of Lancaster. What should have taken 6 hours took 11 driving.

But we finally made it to LA and took the day to do some site seeing and shopping.
We shopped at The Grove. A very cool out door mall.
We also went to Hollywood to see the Stars on the sidewalk.
Not something I would recommend doing. It was pretty Ghetto down there.

Next it was on to Disneyland!
