At the end of the day Daniel said "did you have a good birthday?"
I told him yes it was so fun, but I wish I would still get those SO EXCITED feelings like I did when I was a kid. Remember that?
I had heard about this 100 year old Steam Train that went through the Redwood Forest of Santa Cruz and knew that it would be so fun and Brighton would love it!
Well all of this ended up to be true!
It was truly magical and Brighton indeed LOVED it!
We sat in the front of the train and when the steam came out of the train I would feel it hit my face. I loved how it felt while riding through the forest. It was so beautiful. These pictures really do not give it justice. As Daniel and I sat there taking it all in we said to each other I wish we could just capture the true beauty of this in a picture. But you just can't. I would Highly recommend this if you are in the area.
Then we met up with some of our friends on the boardwalk and played some sand volleyball.
After the beach we went home got showered and cleaned up for a night out on the town. My sweet friend Lindsay watched our kids. We went to a fancy little Greek restaurant and then out for some ice cream. It was so fun. Every time Daniel and I get a date night (which is not very often) I just love him more and think why don't we do this more!? Easier said than done I guess.
We came home around midnight and Daniel had to go into the office. He found out he had to do a ton of work right before we were going to leave for dinner and said he would just do it when we got back. He knew it was going to be a lot of work and took me out anyways.
He didn't get home until 7 am the next day slept for a couple hours and went back in at 10 am until 5pm took an hour nap and then Brighton would not let him sleep so he played with brighton helped me feed the kids and get them ready for bed and did not go to sleep until 9pm
Tell you what, that is a good man right there!!! So selfless and always sweet.
I kept asking him aren't you tired? Don't you want to try and go to bed. He says stop worrying about me and lets be with the kids I will sleep later. WOW!! Seriously!? I love him!
So I am now 26 and I feel pretty good about that!

I'm so glad you had a good birthday! That train ride looks amazing! I'm also glad you have such a good hubby who will take you out and spend time with the kiddies with lack of sleep and lots of work to do.:)
Happy Birthday!!! I'm bummed we couldn't go to the beach on Saturday with you. It sounds like you had a great birthday! Yay for getting a date night! And wow sounds like Daniel got killed over the weekend
